Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Receive Conservation International’s “Global Visionary Award”

The DOJ has sued Apple, alleging violations of antitrust laws, but Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancee Lauren Sanchez have been making headlines for a different reason. The engaged couple recently received Conservation International’s “Global Visionary Award” for their dedication to addressing climate change and biodiversity loss.

Bezos and Sanchez, who respectively lead the Bezos Earth Fund, were honored for their efforts in preserving critical ecosystems and supporting local communities. The award was presented at Conservation International’s gala dinner in New York City, where they also participated in a discussion with actor Harrison Ford.

This recognition comes on the heels of Bezos and Sanchez bestowing the “Bezos Courage & Civility Award” to actress Eva Longoria and retired Navy Admiral Bill McRaven. The award, which aims to recognize leaders who pursue solutions with courage and civility, comes with a $50 million grant for each recipient to donate to a charity of their choice.

With a personal fortune of $202.4 billion, Bezos continues to make philanthropic efforts through the Bezos Earth Fund, which has already distributed over $2 billion in grants since its inception. The couple’s commitment to environmental conservation and social impact has earned them praise and recognition in the philanthropic community.
