World Record-Holders Femke Bol and Mondo Duplantis Set for Wanda Diamond League Meetings
World record-holders Femke Bol and Mondo Duplantis are set to showcase their talents at the upcoming Wanda Diamond League meetings in Silesia and Stockholm as they gear up for their title defences.
Bol, the Dutch star, is eyeing a fourth consecutive Diamond League 400m hurdles crown at the final in Brussels in September. Her preparations will include competing at the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Chorzow, Poland, on 25 August. Having previously set a meeting record of 49.75 in the 400m flat in 2022, Bol will be looking to continue her success in Chorzow.
Meanwhile, Duplantis is aiming for a fourth straight Diamond League title in the pole vault in Brussels. His journey towards the final will kick off at his home meeting, the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm, Sweden, on 2 June. Duplantis recently set his eighth world record with a 6.24m clearance at the Diamond League season opener in Xiamen, and he will be looking to impress his home fans in Stockholm.
The BAUHAUS-Galan will also feature top athletes such as Chris Nilsen, John Ernest Obiena, Sam Kendricks, Fred Kerley, Letsile Tebogo, Alison dos Santos, and Kyron McMaster. Kerley, a world champion, will be aiming for a third Diamond League Trophy, while dos Santos and McMaster will go head-to-head in the 400m hurdles.
The upcoming Diamond League meetings promise to be thrilling events with world-class athletes competing for top honors. Fans can expect to witness record-breaking performances and intense rivalries as the athletes prepare for the ultimate showdown in Brussels and Paris later this year.
