Exclusive Newsweek Polling Shows Taylor Swift Could Sway Biden Supporters to Vote Republican

Taylor Swift’s influence extends beyond the music industry and into the realm of politics, as a recent exclusive Newsweek poll reveals that the pop sensation could sway President Joe Biden’s supporters to vote Republican in the upcoming November elections.

According to the poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, 22 percent of voters who backed Biden in the 2020 election stated that they would be more likely to vote for a GOP candidate if endorsed by Swift. This marks a significant increase from January, when only 13 percent of Biden supporters expressed the same sentiment.

Interestingly, Swift’s influence also seems to be growing among Trump supporters, although to a lesser extent. The poll showed that 16 percent of Trump 2020 voters would be more likely to vote for a Democrat candidate endorsed by Swift, up from 13 percent in January.

Swift’s immense popularity and cultural impact have raised questions about her potential role in the 2024 election. Named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” in 2023 and with a billion-dollar-grossing tour under her belt, Swift’s endorsement could hold significant weight in the political arena.

Overall, the poll found that 18 percent of Americans would be more likely to vote for a candidate backed by Swift, with 15 percent stating they would be less likely to do so. However, a majority of respondents (55 percent) indicated that Swift’s views would not influence their vote.

The survey also revealed that Swift’s influence is stronger among male and younger voters. Twenty-seven percent of male voters and a third of voters aged 18 to 24 said they would be more likely to vote for a Swift-endorsed candidate.

While Swift has largely stayed out of politics, she did support the Biden-Harris ticket in 2020 and made critical comments about former President Donald Trump during the last election cycle. In 2018, she endorsed two Democratic candidates for Congress in Tennessee, although one of them lost to Republican Marsha Blackburn.

As Swift’s influence continues to grow, her potential impact on the political landscape remains a topic of interest and speculation.
